4/1/2020 Help is on the way... It felt great to be able to provide the Acton Police Department with one shield per Officer. As their duty calls them into both first aid and domestic disturbances, we hope the shields will protect them a bit more from droplets. We are working quickly to produce face shields for Acton Fire/EMS and Boxborough Public Safety. If you are in need of face shields, please reach out to us.
3/27/2020 Doing what we can, with what we have... We started with a plea for help from a local doctor for PPE. From there, an amazing local woman (and great pilates teacher!) tapped her social networks and people came together.
In the Acton area, spouses of local doctors and a local engineer with a 3D printer decided to make shields.
All over the country and the world, people with good ideas, 3D printers or both have been rising to meet the unmet needs of the medical communities who are working to care for people possible cases of COVID-19.
To date, many people have answered the call and we are doing our best to help those who willingly put themselves at risk for other people.
We just want them to be as safe as they can be as they care for the rest of us.
